Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: January 15, 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Solstice's watch repair and restoration services and website. By requesting service, visiting our facility, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Please read these terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

2. Service Agreement

2.1 Formation of Agreement

A service agreement is formed when: (a) you submit a service request and we provide a written estimate, (b) you approve the estimate, and (c) you deliver or ship your timepiece to our facility. We reserve the right to decline service requests at our discretion.

2.2 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to enter into a service agreement with Solstice. By requesting service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.

2.3 Ownership Verification

You represent and warrant that you are the rightful owner of the timepiece submitted for service, or that you have explicit authorization from the owner to request service. We may request proof of ownership or authorization before accepting a timepiece.

3. Service Description

3.1 Scope of Services

Solstice provides professional watch repair and restoration services, including but not limited to: mechanical movement servicing, bezel and component replacement, cosmetic restoration, water resistance testing, and related technical work. The specific services to be performed will be outlined in your service estimate.

3.2 Service Process

Our service process typically includes: initial assessment, detailed estimate provision, client approval, disassembly and inspection, parts sourcing if needed, repair or restoration work, quality testing, and final documentation. We will communicate with you throughout this process regarding any findings or recommendations.

3.3 Timeline Estimates

Service timelines provided are estimates based on typical circumstances. Actual completion times may vary due to parts availability, the complexity of work discovered during disassembly, or other factors beyond our control. We will inform you promptly of any significant timeline changes.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Service Estimates

We provide written estimates before beginning work. Estimates are based on the anticipated scope of work and may be adjusted if disassembly reveals additional issues or different requirements. We will contact you for approval before proceeding with any work that exceeds the original estimate by more than 10%.

4.2 Currency and Pricing

All prices are quoted in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$) unless otherwise specified. Prices include labor, standard lubricants and cleaning solutions, and basic gasket replacements. Replacement parts, specialized components, and expedited services are priced separately.

4.3 Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of service before the timepiece is returned to you. We accept cash, bank transfers, and major credit cards. A deposit may be required for complex restorations or when sourcing expensive components.

4.4 Evaluation Fee

If you choose not to proceed with service after we have conducted a detailed evaluation requiring disassembly, a reasonable evaluation fee may apply to cover our time and effort. This fee will be discussed before any disassembly work begins.

5. Client Responsibilities

As a client of Solstice, you agree to:

6. Service Warranty

6.1 Warranty Coverage

Mechanical caliber services are covered by a twenty-four (24) month warranty from the date of service completion. This warranty covers workmanship and replacement parts installed by Solstice. It does not cover damage from accidents, misuse, unauthorized repairs, or normal wear and tear.

6.2 Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover: (a) cosmetic damage such as scratches or dents, (b) damage from water exposure if water resistance was not specifically addressed in the service, (c) damage from magnetic fields, (d) crystal damage, (e) strap or bracelet wear, (f) issues arising from repairs performed by third parties after our service, or (g) vintage or modified movements where original specifications cannot be met.

6.3 Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period with a description of the issue. We will evaluate the timepiece to determine if the issue falls under warranty coverage. Warranty service may require shipping the timepiece back to our facility.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Service Limitations

While we exercise reasonable care and skill in providing our services, watch repair involves inherent risks, particularly with vintage or previously damaged timepieces. We cannot guarantee specific outcomes or that all issues will be resolved.

7.2 Liability Cap

Our total liability for any claim related to our services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

7.3 Insurance Recommendation

For timepieces of significant value, we recommend maintaining appropriate insurance coverage. We carry professional liability insurance, but this may not fully cover the replacement value of high-value timepieces.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 No Performance Guarantees

While we strive for optimal results, we make no guarantees regarding timekeeping accuracy beyond industry-standard tolerances for the specific caliber. Vintage movements may not achieve modern precision standards due to age-related wear or design limitations.

8.2 Original Parts and Authenticity

We source replacement parts from reputable suppliers and make reasonable efforts to obtain original manufacturer components when possible. However, we cannot always guarantee the availability or authenticity of parts for vintage or discontinued models. We will inform you of sourcing limitations before proceeding.

8.3 Value Assessment

We do not provide formal appraisals or guarantee the market value of timepieces. Any value estimates we provide are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for insurance or sale purposes.

9. Uncollected Timepieces

If you fail to collect your timepiece within ninety (90) days of service completion notification, we may charge a reasonable storage fee. After one hundred eighty (180) days, we reserve the right to dispose of or sell the timepiece to recover unpaid service fees and storage costs, in accordance with Taiwan law regarding abandoned property.

We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking such action, but you are responsible for maintaining current contact information and collecting your timepiece in a timely manner.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is owned by Solstice or used with permission and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Service documentation and technical reports we provide remain our intellectual property but are licensed to you for personal reference regarding your timepiece.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Informal Resolution

If you have a concern or dispute regarding our services, we encourage you to contact us directly first. Many issues can be resolved through open communication and good faith discussion.

11.2 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Taipei, Taiwan.

11.3 Mediation

For disputes that cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator before pursuing litigation.

12. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a new effective date.

For service agreements already in progress, the terms in effect when you submitted your service request will apply. New service requests will be subject to the current terms at the time of submission.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written service estimates and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Solstice regarding our services and supersede all prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral.
